Protologue description: This is a large-flowered variety of the Water Lily of England and other parts of Europe. Though not a tropical species, it does not object to a warm climate, and does finely under the same conditions as the tender ones. When raturalized [sic] in still water, with a very rich soil, it will produce leaves thirteen inches wide, and flowers six inches in diameter. The latter are pure white, the petals being very broad and much more waxy than those of N. odorata. It begins to flower ealier, and continues in bloom for a much longer time, than that species. It is a great favorite with us, and the universal testimony of our customers goes to prove everything we have said in its favor.
